WhatsApp’s beta application for iOS has been updated with a new Disappearing Messages feature and other minor improvements.
If enabled, messages will disappear from a conversation after seven days. WhatsApp notes that media that has been saved won’t disappear, and messages can be forwarded or saved in other ways.
The preview of a message might also stay on the lock screen of a recipient’s device if they have unlocked in within those 7 days.
The feature is rolling out to users signed up to the WhatsApp beta on TestFlight, which was also recently updated with automatic update support. It will make its way to the stable app later this month.
