Twitter working on subscriptions, rolls out YouTube support

Twitter is rolling out support for playing back YouTube videos directly in the app on iPhone and iPad.

Currently, when a user shares a link to a YouTube video, a thumbnail will appear in the feed and clicking on it will take you to the YouTube website or app.

The change, currently rolling out to users in the US, Canada, Japan and Saudi Arabia, means you can view and play videos without leaving Twitter. It will be in testing as part of a “four-week experiment”, a Twitter spokesperson said.

Software leaker Alessendro also revealed new evidence of a subscriptions service on Twitter. It shows the Undo Tweet feature, that gives you a set period of time to unsend a tweet, could be made available only to paying users.
