tvOS 15 redesigns video player UI

tvOS 15 brings a handful of minor improvements, such as Spatial Audio and SharePlay, for sharing content with others. As spotted by 9to5Mac, it also includes a redesigned video player interface, similar to what exists in iOS 14 and later.

Movie or TV show titles will appear in large writing at the bottom left corner, and a new info button provides options for restarting an episode and learning more about what you’re watching. A dedicated Speech icon replaces the swipe down gesture in previous versions of tvOS, which let you change subtitles, audio settings and more.

Captions, audio track settings and audio range options can be adjusted in the new menu. Picture-in-picture can also be invoked at the press of a button.

tvOS 15 will be available to the public later this year and is compatible with the Apple TV HD, Apple TV 4K (2017) and Apple TV 4K (2021).
