The brand new iPad mini has been announced

Apple has finally revealed a new iPad mini. It has been redesigned to follow the same design language as the iPad Pro and Air lineups, with an edge-to-edge screen design and square edges. Because of the new design, the device is able to have a larger 8.3” display in the same sized body and support the second-generation Apple Pencil.

The new mini still supports Touch ID, however, it is now in the power button, instead of the Home button. With a new USB-C port, the mini now has 5Gbps data transfer and can support a large number of USB-C accessories. It also now has a 5G option.

The front camera has been updated, so it is now a 12MP ultra wide camera instead of a 7MP camera. It has a center stage feature for a better video call experience. The back camera has also been updated to 12MP.

Continuing their efforts to become more environmentally friendly, Apple have incorporated a 100 percent recycled aluminium enclosure and the magnets and speakers are made from 100 percent recycled rare earth elements.

The new mini comes in 4 colours – Space Grey, Pink, Purple and Starlight and has a starting price of £479 or $499. It is available to order immediately.
