Ring has quietly announced an upgrade to its flagship video doorbell, the Ring Video Doorbell 4, with minor improvements over the previous models.
The main new feature is colour pre-roll video, which is four seconds of footage captured before motion is detected. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus only captured this in black and white.
However, you’ll need to subscribe to Ring Protect at $3 a month, which also enables 30-day video history, snapshot capture and more.
The Ring Video Doorbell 4 also supports two-way audio, 1080p HD video and has “enhanced” WiFi capabilities, Ring claims.
The device will go on sale on April 28 for $199.99 in the US and on May 5 in the UK, priced at £179. It’s available for pre-order now.
