Netflix isn’t testing Spatial Audio support on AirPods Pro

Netflix has confirmed to MacRumors that it hasn’t been testing spatial audio support for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max and has no plans to start supporting it.

This conflicts with a previous report that claimed Netflix would roll out spatial audio to some content by Spring.

The streaming giant says it has been testing multi-channel support for built in speakers. It said it has no plans to support spatial audio that this time.

Other streaming services, including Apple TV+, Disney+ and HBO Max already support the feature.

Apple added spatial audio support for AirPods Pro in iOS 14, tvOS 14 and macOS Big Sur, released in the latter half of 2020. It brings three-dimensional audio to content that supports it.
