Microsoft rebrands Xbox Live to Xbox network

Microsoft has confirmed that it is rebranding Xbox Live to Xbox network after mentions of the new naming were seen on the Xbox dashboard.

In the past few days, images surfaced online of the mention of ‘Xbox network’ in place of Xbox Live when sharing clips online

The company said that the term ‘Xbox network’ “refers to the underlying Xbox online service” and that “the update from ‘Xbox Live’ to ‘Xbox network’ is intended to distinguish the underlying service from Xbox Live Gold memberships”.

Xbox Live has been used for the online Xbox service for the past 18 years.
