Microsoft compares iPad Pro to Surface Pro 7 in new advert

Microsoft has compared the iPad Pro to its Surface Pro 7 two-in-one in a new advert, continuing a campaign that began in January.

This slightly fairer comparison looks at design, connectivity, power and price using the base Surface Pro 7 with an Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The iPad used is the 12.9” Pro, with A12Z Bionic and 64GB storage.

Microsoft points out the built-in kickstand on the Surface, something that the iPad does not have. The actor simply slams the iPad onto the tabletop.

It also compares ports, highlighting the single USB-C port on the iPad Pro but failing to demonstrate the second port used for charging on the Magic Keyboard.

The ad skimps over the display and power of the iPad Pro, which has an industry-leading ProMotion, Liquid Retina display with support for P3 colour, while the A12Z Bionic chip is the fastest in any tablet.

It has now unlisted the previous video, which compared the M1 MacBook Pro to the Surface Pro 7, likely due to how poorly received it was.
