Microsoft announces Office 2021 for macOS, coming later this year

Microsoft has announced the latest standalone version of its office suite – Office 2021. It will be available on Windows and macOS later this year and will be for users who don’t want to pay yearly for Office 365.

No details have been made available about Office 2021 just yet, but a new Office LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel), for commercial customers, will include dark mode, improvements to accessibility and more.

Although Office supports dark mode on Mac, it will see improvements that make the content you’re working on easier to see with dark mode enabled.

Microsoft currently provides Office 365, a subscription-based version of Office with cloud storage and monthly security and feature updates, and Office 2019, the latest perpetual release that will soon be replaced by the 2021 version.
