
Apple says it is “working together” with Microsoft to support the new Xbox Series X and Series S controllers on iPhones and iPads. The new controllers don’t currently in iOS or iPadOS despite remaining mostly the same as the previous generation controller.
With iOS 14, Apple added support for the Xbox Elite 2 controller and Xbox Adaptive Controller to iPhones and iPads. However, this compatibility came nearly a year after the release of the Elite 2 controller.
It’s not clear how long it will take for Xbox Series X/S controller compatbility to be added, but Apple says “Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring compatibility for the Xbox Series X controller to customers in a future update”.
Xbox Series X and Series S debuted with an improved controllers that had a textured back, improved triggers and better D-pad. It also features a Share button on the front for quickly sharing game clips and screenshots.
