Kuo: 2022 iPhones to have 48-megapixel camera and 8K video

In his latest investors note, accurate Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that new iPhone models in 2022 will receive significant camera upgrades.

Apple could introduce a 48-megapixel camera in the high-end iPhones next year, Kuo says. The upgraded sensor will “elevate mobile photography to a new level” through larger pixels than current iPhone and Android models.

The 48-megapixel lens will also be capable of outputting in 12MP. Pro models could also support 8K video recording, which will be more suitable for augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) devices.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max can currently record video in 4K 60fps, with an f/2.4 12MP wide camera, f/2.0 telephoto lens and f/2.4 12MP ultra-wide.
