Apple released iOS 14.2.1 on Thursday 19 November to users of the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
It’s a bug fix update that resolves some major issues that iPhone 12 users experienced after using the device. According to the release notes, Apple has fixed a bug preventing MMS messages from being received and one that made the lock screen unresponsive.
iOS 14.2.1 also includes a fix for Made for iPhone hearing devices that had sound quality issues. Apple previously acknowledged this in a support document, saying that some users may hear loud static or interupted or garbled audio.
On iPhone 12 mini, multiple reports claimed that when swiping up from the bottom of the Lock Screen or pressing the camera and flashlight buttons, their device could become unresponsive. The update should fix these issues.
The bug in the Messages app prevented some messages from Android users being received on any iPhone 12 model. Reports suggest this is primarily in group chats, but conversations with another person may have also been affected.
