Instagram is testing a new animation upon the opening and closing of a user’s post.
The new animation, which is thought to be a test, has been reported by dozens on Twitter and is confirmed by Apple TLD to be legitimate.
When visiting someone’s profile and tapping on an image, it will zoom in (like a parallax effect) onto the post. Closing, by swiping away, pushes the post back down into the grid again.
Instagram has been testing numerous changes to the user interface recently, including the addition of the Shop and Reels tabs, bolder headings and an improved dark mode.
