Instagram adds context to suggested posts to explain why you’re seeing them

Instagram has rolled out a minor new feature that lets you know why a suggested post in your feed is being recommended to you.

The feature, described as ‘context string’, is under each post in the Suggested section of your feed when you reach the end. It will say, for example, that you’re seeing a post because you follow a similar account or liked a post on the same topic.

The Suggested part of the feed is a recent addition and hasn’t been liked amongst users, with many citing addiction concerns and unwanted content.

Instagram is available for iPhone from the App Store. The latest update is available now.
