Gurman: New iMac could use similar chip to iPad Pro

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that the redesigned iMac could use the same chip as the new iPad Pro.

In a tweet, he questioned if others would “find it odd” if a “big iMac” would use the same chip as the one found in the upcoming iPad Pro, likely an A14X.

Apple could update the iMac with a new design and significantly different form factors. It will also use Apple Silicon, potentially the M1 or an upgraded M1X.

A new iPad Pro is set to be announced at the Apple Event, with display, camera and design changes also expected.
