Evidence in iOS 14 pointing to an iPhone 9 Plus

Previously 9To5Mac found lots of details about the entry-level iPhone 9 or iPhone SE2 through iOS 14 code and yet again they have discovered evidence that points to a “Plus” version of the iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2. While previous leaks and rumors have suggested that this might just be a 4.7 inch iPhone, this is the first speculation to support a larger-sized version of the same phone, a 5.5 inch iPhone 9.

If this were to happen these two phones would replace the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. These iPhones are expected to be packed with the A13 Bionic chip, but still have a solid-state home button with a form factor similar to iPhone 8, making this an even more attractive option, it is going to feature a camera that is pretty good all thanks to the A13 Chip which enables the camera to bring out the best in a picture through its enhanced imaging capabilities.

For many people holding on to their old iPhones just so that they don’t have to use the swipe-based gesture system on the iPhone X and XI models, this could be a good time to upgrade. And an even better reason to upgrade will be its pricing, rumors suggest pricing for the 64 GB variant to start at $399.

The release of this iPhone is expected to drop as a press release or a website refresh, as the outbreak of COVID-19 has restricted Apple from holding any events. Or if Apple wants to hold it off for some more time and release it after March, WWDC 2020 is when we can expect a mention of this iPhone, although Apple never made use of WWDC as the platform to announce new iPhones. We will have to wait and see how Apple decides to play it this time around.
