ECG on Apple Watch coming to South Korea soon

Apple has gained approval from South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to launch its ECG app on the Apple Watch in the country, etnews reports.

The feature will only after Apple rolls out an update to watchOS enabling it. This will likely come in the next month. It will allow users to measure the electrical activity of their heart and receive irregular heart rate notifications.

Electrocardiogram has been available in select areas since 2018, when Apple launched it with the Apple Watch Series 4. Since its original debut, it’s come to the U.K, France, Germany, Sweden and dozens of other countries.

In May, Apple received regulatory approval to launch ECG in Japan and Brazil, although users in those countries are still waiting for an update to enable it.
