Apple itself has confirmed the name of AirTags. In a now-deleted Apple Support video, titled “How to erase your iPhone,” they show how to remove your device from Find My iPhone. However, if you look closely, you’ll see AirTags mentioned under “Enable Offline Finding.”
It’s still unclear when AirTags will release or what they will look like, but it’s most likely going to appear at Apple’s (now online-only) WWDC or September event. I’m definitely excited for AirTags myself, and this confirms that Apple is working on them and that they’re in an internal version of iOS.
