Google is adding a dark mode to Chrome OS, its operating system for Chromebooks, Android Central reports. The feature, which is something users have wanted for years, is now in testing in preview versions of the OS.
Users can try out the dark mode by typing in the following lines in the address bar in Chrome on Chrome OS: chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark and chrome://flags/#enable-webui-dark-mode. You will have to enable both flags to see the feature.
Android Central claims this is a “pretty comprehensive feature” and works with most UI elements, including app backgrounds. However, Google is likely still testing it to iron out existing bugs and to polish the feature, like they have done on Android.
