According to numerous reports, Apple Uptown in Minneapolis is closing permanently after 19 years, though the store’s page on Apple’s website still show it as “Closed Temporarily.” The store has already been closed since March due to COVID-19, and with riots in May after the death of George Floyd in the city, it pushed the store to a point where a shutdown was the best long-term solution.

Though we’ve made the difficult decision to permanently close Apple Uptown, all of our valued team members will be offered other positions within Apple and we look forward to continuing to serve our customers at our four nearby stores

Apple was reportedly in the process of closing down the store before COVID-19 and the protests. With this closure, there’s 4 Apple Stores remaining in the state: Apple Rosedale Center, Apple Mall of America, Apple Southdale, and Apple Ridgedale.
