Apple testing revamped Maps app in UK and Ireland

At WWDC 2020, Apple said that it would be bringing its revamped Maps app to the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada, and today has starting testing this expansion.

Justin O’Beirne claims that the new Maps app, with more detailed landscapes, roads, airports and buildings is being tested in the UK and Ireland but currently not Canada. Apple previously rolled out improved maps to the United States last year.

It’s not known when Apple will release the improved Maps app to iOS users, but O’Beirne claims it could “coincide with iOS 14’s” (sometime between mid-September and October).
