Apple releases macOS Big Sur 11.2.2 with third-party charger fix

Apple has released macOS Big Sur 11.2.2 to the public with a fix that prevents “incurring damage” to certain Mac models when they’ve been connected to third-party USB-C hubs and docks.

The fix applies to MacBook Pro (2019 and later) and MacBook Air (2020 and later) models, but the update is available to all machines.

It’s not clear whether some devices were damaged as a result of what Apple calls “non-compliant” hubs and docks.

Have you had any problems with charging on a recent MacBook Pro or MacBook Air? Let us know!
