Apple releases macOS 10.15.6 Supplemental Update w/ fixes for 2020 iMac

Apple fixes the washed out screen bug on the 2020 iMac

On Wednesday, Apple released a supplemental update to macOS Catalina 10.15.6. It brings important bug fixes and improvements to all users, but notably users of the 2020 iMac.

Apple says that the update fixes an issue where the 2020 Retina 5K 27-inch iMac could appear washed out after the user wakes it from sleep. We’ve experienced this issue with the new iMac and it appears many others did, too.

  • Fixes a stability issue that could occur when running virtualisation apps
  • Resolves an issue where an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) may appear washed out after waking from sleep

You can install the 10.15.6 Supplemental Update in System Preferences > Software Update now.
