Apple releases Final Cut Pro 10.5.2 update with fixes and improvements

Apple has released Final Cut Pro 10.5.2 to all users with performance improvements and bug fixes. The update was first made available on Thursday but started rolling out to users today.

Version 10.5.2 adds support for a new universal RED plugin that enables playing back and decoding RED RAW footage on both Intel and Apple Silicon-based Macs.

It also fixes stability issues when playing H.264 files that contain ‘corrupt data’. Apple says using AirPlay with Final Cut Pro on an Apple Silicon machine should be smoother with the update.

Final Cut Pro is available from the Mac App Store for $300. The latest update is available for free for existing users.
