Alongside the 6.1″ iPhone 12, Apple has unveiled the iPhone 12 mini which has a 5.4″ edge-to-edge display and sports the same features as the larger model. It will start at $699.
The iPhone 12 mini has a flat-edged design with aluminium borders. It’s got a 5.4″ Super Retina XDR OLED display with resolution of 2340‑by‑1080 and HDR support.
The A14 Bionic chip promises 50% faster performance than any other smartphone, with a Neural Engine boosting performance 80% over last year’s A13. A four-core GPU will also give the iPhone 12 mini faster graphics power.
Like the other models, the 12 mini sports mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G and uses a redesigned antenna system to promise ideal speeds of up to 3.5Gbps.
A dual-camera system like the iPhone 12 contains an ultra-wide and new Wide camera with f/1.6 aperture. These support Night Mode, with 28% improved performance in low-light, Night Mode Timelapse and Deep Fusion.
The iPhone 12 will come with slimmer packaging with no charger or EarPods but a USB-C to Lightning cable. It will support MagSafe for up to 15W wireless charging and works with accessories with the magnet system.
