iPhone 13 Pro: smaller notch and larger camera revealed in new 3D renders

According to new 3D renders shared by 91Mobiles, the 6.1″ iPhone 13 Pro (2021) will see notable changes to the rear and front design, and will also be thicker than the iPhone 12 Pro.

The renders, received from “industry sources”, claim to show a significantly larger rear camera layout, which will accomodate the larger lenses from the current iPhone 12 Pro Max. This aligns with previous rumors that suggested the smaller iPhone 13 Pro would receive the sensor-shift stabilisation and larger sensors from the 6.7″ Pro model, allowing more light in image and improving low-light quality.

The lenses within the camera bump appear to be spaced out more than current models. 91Mobiles speculates that the dimensions of the iPhone 13 Pro (2021) will be 46.7mm x 71.5mm x 7.6mm, making way for a 0.2mm increase in thickness. This may hold a larger battery, the site reports.

It will also get a smaller notch, a design change rumoured since before the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro were released in 2019. This is expected to be around 30% narrower than current models, according to leaked renders of the iPhone 13 (2021) from Indian blog MySmartPrice.

Front display panels of the iPhone 13 that showed a smaller notch were purportedly leaked and shared by MacRumors. We’ve since seen an influx in reports of changes to the size of the notch on the next iPhones.
