Apple has released the fourth beta of macOS 10.15.5 Catalina to developers, one week after pushing the third beta.
macOS 10.15.5 introduces Battery Health Management for MacBooks, which helps extend the overall lifespan of a notebook’s battery, reducing the rate of chemical ageing. When a Mac is plugged in and near full charge, this feature will turn on, keeping the MacBook short of a full charge. It will preserve the longevity of a battery by not fully charging it.
The feature can be disabled by going to System Preferences and Energy Saver. You can download Beta 4 from the Software Update section of System Preferences, if you’re a developer.
