YouTube rolling out bedtime reminders on iOS and Android apps

YouTube is today expanding its range of Digital Wellbeing features (introduced in 2018) with new bedtime reminder notifications for the iOS and Android apps.

Bedtime reminders will prompt you to stop watching videos on the platform at a set time each day. They can be customised so it doesn’t appear whilst you’re watching a video, and the user can set start and end times. This can be done through Settings > ‘Remind me when its time for bed’ in the YouTube app.

Google says that with it being “especially hard to stick to your routine” at this time, the feature should help those who find themselves binge watching YouTube videos late into the night. It’s rolling out now and you may need to update your app.
