Xiaomi recently presented us with their new smart wearable device. This is Xiaomi’s first smart eye wearable device. Although it looks like a normal pair of glasses, do not be fooled by its simplicity! It comes packed with sensors and an imaging system that gives us access to features such as Navigation and Real-Time Text Translation.
According to the company, the Xiaomi Smart Glasses are lightweight, weighing a meagre 51 grams, and incorporate a new MicroLED waveguide optical technology to show textual content and notifications. The Xiaomi Smart Glasses are also said to be capable of making calls, capturing photos, translating text on the spot, and providing augmented reality (AR) navigation.
The Smart Wearable comes with XiaoAI Assistant for voice commands. Notifications will be filtered and only the most important ones will be displayed by the glasses. For phone calls, the new glasses have a built-in dual beamforming microphone and speaker. Furthermore, Xiaomi Smart Glasses can display real-time roads and maps in front of you, allowing you to safely and conveniently keep your eyes on the road while driving.
Xiaomi’s new Smart Glasses will compete with Facebook’s Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses, which were recently released. Even though the Smart Glasses have been announced, there is no word on pricing or availability. It is highly likely that the Wearable will be released first in China before expanding to other markets.
