Last week, source for Windows XP was leaked online. It’s the first time that code for the operating system is available to the public and over 40GB has been published. Microsoft says that its “investigating the matter” and hasn’t commented further.

This leak has revealed a secret theme, labeled ‘Candy’, that has a design close to Apple’s Mac OS X. It takes on the Aqua look of that operating system, with buttons and UI elements resembling it.

Microsoft only used the theme internally when building the final Windows XP user interface, and it was only accessed by developers. Windows XP shipped with a famous green and blue Luna-look alongside improved performance, remote desktop capabilities, CD-RW support and much more. It was released in 2001 and is no longer supported.
