Microsoft announces new generation of their iPad competitor, Surface Pro

At its annual October event, Microsoft has announced major improvements to its Surface Pro, the competitor to Apple’s iPad and iPad Pro lineup.

The new device, Surface Pro 7, has seen internal upgrades to boost performance, with an all-new 10th-generation Intel CPU, 128GB SSD (up to 1TB) and the same 4-16GB of RAM. The PixelSense display is the same as last year’s Pro 6.

What’s new to this model, however, is a long-awaited USB-C port that replaces the Mini DisplayPort from previous models. It comes after Apple replaced Lightning with USB-C on last year’s new iPad Pros.

Surface Pro 7 will start at $749, similar pricing to the high-end iPads, and launch on October 22nd.
