iPhone 9 case inventory arriving at retailers, April 5 merchandising date

The long rumoured iPhone 9 is supposed to be launch this spring, with latest reports saying an April launch is imminent. But now, cases for the iPhone 9 is making their way into retailers, with instructions of not inventorying them before April 5th.

According to 9to5Mac the cases are being sent to Best Buy this week. Actual inventory being sent to retailers is a very important step in the launch of a new product, and with the new cases not merchandising before April 5th, which is this week’s Sunday, it’s likely we’ll see the launch of iPhone 9 this week.

The iPhone 9 is expected to be very similar to the iPhone 8, with TouchID but with updated cameras and an A13 Bionic chip inside. Apple is also rumoured to be working on a larger 5.5-inch iPhone 9 ‘Plus’ model.
