iPhone 12: 4K at 120 & 240fps, 120Hz display looking more likely

EverythingApplePro and Max Weinbach are out with some new information about the upcoming iPhone 12, 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max has passed ‘five out of five’ engineering tests for the 120Hz ProMotion display, whilst the 6.1inch iPhone 12 Pro has only passed four. This is because of the smaller display and condensed components inside the device. Despite costing more, Apple will likely resolve the final issues before production.

He says that Apple may choose to ‘axe’ the feature, or make it exclusive to the larger 6.7in iPhone 12 Pro Max, but “things are looking good so far”.

References in the iOS 14 Camera application suggest that the iPhone 12 could gain new video modes – 4K at 120 frames per second and 4K at 240fps (up from 4k60). Apple is testing these new capabilities for upcoming iPhones, but possibly only for the 12 Pro.
