In Apple’s first public Tweet ever, their account is promoting a widespread Bitcoin scam. A few other compromised accounts include Uber, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Binance, and the most followed user on Twitter: Barack Obama. The cause is unknown, but it is unlikely to be a phishing scam considering multiple accounts got locked at the same time. This is developing– we’ll update you as we learn more.
UPDATE 2: The accounts are generally back to normal, most tweets have been removed.
UPDATE: Twitter has acknowledged the incident and is investigating.
