21 Apple Stores in Australia will re-open on May 7th after extended closures impacted most Apple Stores across the world due to the coronavirus pandemic. It comes after Apple has been slowly opening other stores around the world, and Tim Cook’s interview last week, where he said Austria and Australia’s Apple Stores would being to re-open within two weeks.
Apple will implement a range of changes to allow the stores to function safely for the employees and members of the public. Some of these include temperature checks, a limit to numbers of customers in the store at one time and regular cleaning of demo devices. Opening hours are set to be reduced as well.
Apple Sydney will remain closed due to ongoing renovation that started in January but couldn’t finish. It’s unclear whether Apple will begin works on that store again at this time, but even so, a new store wouldn’t open during times like this.
