Apple adds 2013 and 2014 MacBooks to vintage list

Apple has made some models of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro from 2013 and 2014 obsolete, from today. The company added selected models from these years to its vintage product list.

  • MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2013)
  • MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)
  • MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014)
  • MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014)
  • ‌MacBook Pro‌ (13-inch, Mid 2014)

These devices are no longer eligible to receive support at Apple’s Genius Bar or Authorised Service Providers, but most will continue to receive software updates – the latest being macOS Catalina, released last year.

iPod Touch 5th-generation has also been included on the vintage and obsolete product list because it’s not been manufactured for more than five years or less than seven. This was released in 2012 with a larger variety of colours and was succeeded by the iPod touch 6 in July 2015. Both of these have since been dropped from software support and no longer receive updates.
