Amazon delays Prime Day deals

Amazon has confirmed that the annual Amazon Prime Day has been delayed in most countries across the globe. The shopping event offers large discounts to Prime members and is usually held in July.

“ This year we’ll be holding Prime Day later than usual“, a spokesperson for the company said. Amazons wants to “ensure the safety of our employees and supporting our customers and selling partners”.

Prime Day for India is set to go ahead on August 6-7th. Rumours previously suggested that Amazon had plans to push back the event to October 5th, just weeks before Black Friday.

It appears that COVID-19 is the reason for the delay. Amazon’s services have been busier than ever, with huge demand, adding pressure on the company to deliver on time and keep their employees safe. We’ll update you when Amazon confirms a date for Prime Day.
