AirPower successor, C68, pictured in new images

Jon Prosser has posted new images of what looks to be the prototype successor to AirPower that is currently being developed by Apple. The new images give us a closer look at the new wireless charging mat.

Externally, not a lot has changed, with the same design as the original AirPower, first announced in 2017 alongside the iPhone X. However, engineers have now got the Apple Watch working with the charger, as previously it did not support the Watch.

The device is codenamed ‘C68’ and being worked on by Apple’s Sharing and Proximity team, according to Prosser. It’s not expected to launch in the near future but all signs are now pointing to an AirPower successor in the next few years.
